This book provided me with such an eye opening approach to anger and how to deal with it, learn from it and not get caught up in it.
This was a fantastic book, written by the father of Mindfulness Thich Nhat Hanh. it is an easy read and one that I recommend to anyone who has ever felt so moved with anger before that they didn't know how to process it or what to do with it.
In this book he breaks up very large lessons into small 1 or 2 page mini lessons. He breaks up big concepts and relates them to you through a story. His approach to mindfulness is so darn simple, yet effective. I will constantly read and refer back to this book in moments when I might feel charged with anger. This book is also one of the books I give out the most. When I meet people who I feel might need to know this message, I stop and give them my own copy leading me to forever refill my stash.
One of the lessons in this book that I will never forget and one that I refer to often when helping others.
It is this
Imagine your house is burning down. You go and chase down the man who burnt your house down instead of dealing with your burning house.
This is what not correctly managing anger will do for you. You can go and chase after anyone who has made you angry, but first you need to manage the anger you have within you before doing anything else.
I love this book and I know you will too!
